Memorial Hermann Medical Centers offer comprehensive services for expecting moms and their newborns.

At Memorial Hermann, certified nurse midwives will work with you to provide a birthing experience that is safe, empowering and memorable. The nurse midwives hold certifications from the American Midwife Certification Board and meet the advanced-practice nursing requirements mandated by the state of Texas. Midwives are by your side during labor and birth, offering support, guidance and encouragement. They advocate for your choices and preferences, promoting a calm, intimate and comfortable environment for you to welcome your little one into the world.

  1.  Notify your L&D Nurses of your plans to keep your placenta

  4. Placenta must leave the Hospital within 2hrs of delivery (if they force you to remove the placenta from the premises before your Specialist can arrive for pick-up, then keep it stored in your car, checking on it periodically for ice replenishment if needed)

Hermann’s ‘Mothers' Milk Bank’ relies on women to donate their extra milk to preterm and ill infants in need of milk when their mothers cannot provide their own. ⬆️None of the Memorial Hermann Medical Centers listed above are located within Tree of Life’s free 60-mile travel radius, however we have 3 convenient options:

  1. Meet in the Middle (this option is FREE): Have a close friend or family member meet Lauren for the Placenta hand-off and again for the Product delivery. I can drive up to 60 miles in your direction and your Person can make up the difference. This is our most popular option!
  2. Pay a Travel Fee: It's $0.60 for every mile over 60 to pick-up the Placenta and return Home, and to drop-off your Products and return Home.
  3. Shipping (ideal for those too far for driving): You can choose to ship your frozen Placenta to me and then have your Products shipped back to you. Exact shipping costs vary depending on location and size/weight of packages.
