Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Brenham is nestled in the heart of Texas, in Washington County.  Brenham is as welcoming and friendly as the beautiful bluebonnets that fill their fields in the Spring!

At this Medical Center, Moms will labor, deliver and recover in the Labor & Delivery suite. BSW-Brenham’s Labor & Delivery suites allow for care to be brought to you and your newborn baby. These suites allow your new family to remain together during the birthing process, creating a comfortable environment for this once-in-a-lifetime experience for you and your new baby.

After delivery, mothers and babies are cared for together in BSWB’s “couplet care” environment. Newborn babies remain with their mothers in this family-centered unit and receive their nursing care together, which promotes education and building confidence for new mothers.

Other benefits of the Birthing Suites in Brenham include:

  • Private rooms for the family
  • Sleep area for your support person
  • Cuddle or snooze time (daily between 2:00 - 4:00 PM) for mom and baby to have an opportunity to rest and enjoy one another, uninterrupted by hospital personnel and well-intentioned visitors

Since this is a smaller community, BSW-Brenham is a smaller Hospital with a smaller and more limited maternity staff.  On Google, the Hospital itself only has an average 2.5 star-rating and I could only manage to find 1 positive review and 1 negative review regarding giving birth here.  Searching local Brenham Facebook Moms Groups for any feedback about giving birth at this Hospital would be the best way to get some more recent opinions. Do your research and never be afraid to advocate for yourself!

Positive Reviews:

2021: “I gave birth in this hospital a year ago and all the nurses and staff were really friendly! Came to check up on me every few minutes, let me sleep until it was time for my next vitals. Would definitely go here again”

Negative Reviews:

2017: “They only had like 1 Dr. and he was on call. My girlfriend had her baby here and I stayed for support. They never came to clean the room till the last day and we were there for 3 days. I had to take the trash out. They were kinda late with a lot of info. Seemed like they practice on people and then call the Dr and ask him what to do over the phone.”
